Hundertneunundachtzig Kilogramm
Vollgetankt, was für den Hubraum schwer ist und angesichts der Menge Motor, die darin steckt, völlig verzeihlich. Das Fahrwerk kommt gut damit zurecht.
Rückbaubar
Das Serienventil lässt sich jederzeit wieder an seinem eigenen Stecker anschließen, und beim Umbau in die eine wie in die andere Richtung wird nichts verbraucht.
Nicht dasselbe wie ein Kat-Ausbau
Den Katalysator zu entfernen ist eine eigene Änderung mit eigenen Folgen. Beides wird oft zusammen gemacht und betrifft völlig unterschiedliche Teile der Abgasanlage.
Der komplette Weg
Luftfilterkasten, Schlauch, Membranventil-Baugruppe, Anschluss am Zylinderkopf und ein überwachtes Magnetventil. Eine vollständige Entfernung berücksichtigt jedes dieser Teile und nicht nur die bequem erreichbaren.
Nichts zurückzusetzen
Keine Leerlaufeinstellung, keine Synchronisation der Drosselklappen und keine Änderung an der Einspritzung. Der Motor läuft genau wie zuvor, denn das Ventil hat nie etwas getan, während der Motor arbeitete.
Die Rückrüstung dauert genauso lange
Wer es sich anders überlegt, zahlt dafür nur mit dem Abend, den es kostet, und genau das ist die wichtigste Eigenschaft eines rückrüstbaren Umbaus.
Nicht die Auspuffklappe
Mehrere Kawasakis haben zusätzlich ein servobetätigtes Ventil im Schalldämpfer, ein eigenes System mit eigenem Zweck. Wer die beiden verwechselt, bestellt geradewegs das falsche Teil.
Ein Bauteil ohne Wartungsintervall
Kawasaki schreibt für das Magnetventil keinen Austausch vor, und so ist das Erste, was man davon mitbekommt, eine Warnung im Display. Bei älteren Maschinen fällt das Ventil mindestens ebenso oft von selbst aus, wie ein Besitzer es absichtlich entfernt.
