Kawasaki setzte den Kompressor der H2 in ein Roadster-Fahrwerk, eine Idee, an die sich sonst niemand gewagt hat und wahrscheinlich auch niemand wagen wird.
Hundertsiebenundneunzig PS
Mit enormem Drehmoment aus sehr niedrigen Drehzahlen, denn ein Kompressor braucht keine Drehzahl, um Ladedruck aufzubauen. Sie verhält sich anders als jeder Vierzylinder-Saugmotor.
Nur die elektrische Hälfte
Das Membranventil bleibt am Zylinderkopf, bis eine Verschlussplatte es ersetzt. Kawasaki teilt das System in zwei Teile auf, und aus diesem Grund behandelt der Zubehörmarkt sie getrennt.
Warum sich das Steuergerät die Mühe macht
Die Vorschriften verlangen, dass das System nachweislich funktioniert und nicht bloß vorhanden ist, und der Selbsttest existiert, um genau das zu erfüllen. Er erledigt seine Aufgabe gewissenhaft und ohne Unterschied.
Der vollständige Weg
Airbox, Schlauch, Membranventil, Anschluss am Zylinderkopf und ein überwachtes Magnetventil. Eine vollständige Stilllegung erfasst jedes einzelne davon und nicht nur die bequem erreichbaren.
Was ein Werkstatt-Diagnosegerät sehen würde
Überhaupt nichts, weil der Stromkreis den Selbsttest beantwortet, statt ihm auszuweichen. Dieser Unterschied zählt, wenn das Motorrad aus einem völlig anderen Grund zum Händler zurückkehrt.
Danach eine Probefahrt
Zehn Minuten mit mehreren Abschnitten im Schiebebetrieb reichen, um zu bestätigen, dass das Geräusch verschwunden ist und unter dem Tank nichts eingeklemmt wurde.
Die Vorschriften sind regional verschieden
Selbst innerhalb Europas unterscheiden sich die praktischen Folgen von Land zu Land, und eine Prüfung vorab ist erheblich mehr wert als die Annahme, dass das, was in einem Markt gilt, auch in einem anderen gilt.
