Wo der 650er-Twin seinen Anfang nahm
Die ER-6n führte den Reihen-Twin ein, den Kawasaki seitdem immer weiterentwickelt hat. Ihre Einspritzung ist die einfachste Version dieser Motorenfamilie.
Zweihundert Gramm
Das Modul wiegt etwa so viel wie ein Mobiltelefon, der Kabelbaum trägt kaum etwas bei. Das Gewicht ist bei diesem Bauteil weder Kauf- noch Ausschlussgrund.
Wo Hersteller mager abstimmen
Konstantfahrt, kleine Gasöffnungen und der Bereich, den der Abgaszyklus misst. Genau diese Bedingungen prüft ein Testverfahren – und genau in diesen Bedingungen verbringt ein Fahrer auf der Straße die meiste Zeit.
Zweihundert Gramm und ein Kabel
Das ist das gesamte physische Produkt. Die eigentliche Ingenieursarbeit steckt in der Kurve und im Kabelbaum – beides ist nicht sichtbar, wenn die Sitzbank abgenommen ist.
Keine Einstellungen, die falsch sein können
Eine werksseitig festgelegte Kurve kann nicht falsch konfiguriert werden, geht beim Abklemmen der Batterie nicht verloren und kann nicht für einen Defekt sechs Monate später verantwortlich gemacht werden. Diese Zuverlässigkeit ist das Argument für die einfachere der beiden Einheiten.
Beim Weiterverkauf
In wenigen Minuten abgesteckt, in eine Box gepackt, und das Motorrad ist im Originalzustand. Oder montiert lassen und in der Anzeige erwähnen. Beides schadet nichts.
Die Angabe vor der Bestellung genau lesen
Die Jahresangabe im Titel ist Teil des Produkts. Hersteller ändern Einspritz-Steckverbinder und Kabelführung mitten in einer Modellgeneration, und ein für einen Zeitraum ausgelegtes Modul passt nicht einfach in den anderen.
Die Kosten des Nichtstuns
Ein Motorrad mit Nachrüst-Auspuffanlage und Serienabstimmung nimmt keinen Schaden, läuft nur weiter vom Idealzustand entfernt, als nötig wäre. Viele Besitzer leben damit jahrelang ganz zufrieden.
