Semi-aktives Fahrwerk
Die EVO brachte elektronisch verstellbare Dämpfung an das Naked Bike, was die Fahrt weicher machte, ohne den Motor zu zügeln. Lenker und Gasgriff blieben genau, wo sie waren.
Sechzig Grad
Der Griff erreicht die volle Öffnung bei sechzig Grad Drehung, wo die Serieneinheit deutlich mehr verlangt. Die Hand leistet am Ende für dasselbe Ergebnis weniger Arbeit.
Der Sensor im Inneren
Ride-by-Wire misst den Griffwinkel und übergibt den Wert an die Motorsteuerung. Die Einheit ist damit ebenso ein Messinstrument wie ein Mechanismus.
Mapping aus dem Zubehör
Eine geflashte Steuerung oder ein Zusatzsteuergerät ändert, was bei einer bestimmten Öffnung passiert. Dieses Teil ändert, wie weit die Hand fahren muss, um diese Öffnung zu erreichen. Das sind zwei verschiedene Fragen.
Zwei Fahrer, ein Motorrad
Ein Kurzhub-Gasgriff ist eine Vorliebe, keine Verbesserung. Ein Motorrad, das sich ein Rennstreckenfahrer und ein Pendler teilen, spricht dafür, das Serienteil griffbereit zu halten.
Ausrichtung der Schalterarmatur
Der Schalterblock richtet sich bei den meisten Modellen an der Einheit aus, daher lohnt es sich, ihn nur zu lösen statt abzunehmen und ihn danach seine eigene Position wiederfinden zu lassen.
Ergal gegen Spritzguss
Ein gefrästes Profil behält das Verhältnis, mit dem es konstruiert wurde. Ein gespritztes wird auf eine Toleranz gefertigt und weitet sich dort, wo es im Gehäuse läuft, langsam auf.
Mit Beifahrer
Jeder Impuls erreicht einen Beifahrer über den Rücken des Fahrers, und Feinfühligkeit ist dann keine Geschmacksfrage mehr. Ein kürzerer Drehweg macht sie zu einer Fähigkeit, statt sie vom Motorrad liefern zu lassen. Machbar, aber nicht das, wofür dieses Teil konstruiert wurde.
Dreihundert Gramm
Die Einheit wiegt fast genauso viel wie die Kunststoffversion, sodass niemand am Lenker einen Unterschied spürt. Dies ist kein Gewichtssparteil, und der Katalog behauptet auch nichts anderes.
