Direkt eingesteckt

Die Last ist winzig
Eine Kennzeichenleuchte zieht sehr wenig Strom, und das Steuergerät überwacht genau diesen kleinen Wert. Ihr Fehlen wird sofort bemerkt.
Ein kleines Teil, ein großes Ärgernis
An einer Kennzeichenleuchte ist nichts wichtig, bis sie eine Warnung im Display erzeugt, die nicht mehr verschwindet. Dann redet plötzlich jeder nur noch davon.
Zwei Minuten bei abgenommener Sitzbank
Der gesamte Tausch besteht aus Abstecken, Einstecken und Sichern der Leitung gegen Scheuern. Alles andere an der Arbeit betrifft den Kennzeichenhalter und nicht dieses Teil.
Vorschriften unterscheiden sich
Die Anforderungen an die Kennzeichenbeleuchtung unterscheiden sich von Markt zu Markt, die Elektronik ist überall gleich. Der Eliminator beantwortet Letzteres, nicht Ersteres.
Eine sehr kleine Last
Die Leuchte zieht fast nichts, und genau danach sucht das Steuergerät. Ihr Fehlen wird so zuverlässig erkannt wie ein Scheinwerferausfall.
Zugang
Bei den meisten Ducatis lässt sich die Sitzbank mit dem Schlüssel öffnen, und der Steckverbinder liegt direkt dahinter, was die Arbeit zu einem Zehn-Minuten-Job ohne Demontage der Verkleidung macht. Sportmodelle mit einer tragenden Heckeinheit benötigen unter Umständen deren Lockerung, was ein paar Minuten hinzufügt, ohne die Arbeit zu einem Abendprojekt zu machen.
Den Fehler auslesen statt zu raten
Ein Diagnosegerät nennt den betroffenen Stromkreis, was eine Stunde Herumsuchen an Steckverbindern unter der Sitzbankeinheit erspart. Bei einer Maschine mit mehreren Änderungen an der Beleuchtung ist das der einzig sinnvolle Ausgangspunkt, denn das Display zeigt nur eine allgemeine Warnung, während der Fehlerspeicher genau zeigt, welche Leuchte dem Steuergerät fehlt.
