Niedrig genug für fast jeden, und das ist ein beträchtlicher Teil der Erklärung, warum sich das Modell so gut verkaufte.
Diskret umgesetzte Flüssigkeitskühlung
Triumph hat den Kühler so gut versteckt, dass die Street Twin immer noch wie ein luftgekühltes Motorrad aussieht, und genau darum ging es bei der ganzen Übung.
Kondenswasser im Winter
Dampfleitungen, die von einem warmen Tank zu einem kalten Behälter führen, sammeln Wasser, und bei strengem Frost kann dieses Wasser die engste Biegung im Schlauch verstopfen.
Ein größerer Tank fordert ihn stärker
Die Reisevarianten fassen mehr Kraftstoff und erzeugen entsprechend mehr Dampf, während der Aktivkohlebehälter gleich groß bleibt. Bei diesen Motorrädern tritt die Sättigung früher ein.
Nichts wird verändert
Es werden keine Löcher gebohrt, keine Leitungen gekürzt und keine Stecker abgeschnitten. Genau das macht die Entscheidung überhaupt erst umkehrbar.
Nicht jeder Markt hat ihn
Triumph verbaut die Begrenzung der Verdunstungsemissionen dort, wo Vorschriften sie verlangen, deshalb hat ein importiertes Motorrad möglicherweise nichts von diesen Leitungen. Fünf Minuten unter dem Tank klären die Frage, bevor etwas bestellt wird.
Zwei Enden, zwei Antworten
Der Tank braucht eine Entlüftung und das Steuergerät einen Stromkreis. Ein Kit, das nur eines davon liefert, lässt die halbe Arbeit ungetan und bringt seine eigenen Beanstandungen mit sich.
Zurückrüsten für eine Prüfung
Eine Emissionsprüfung mit Sichtkontrolle verlangt den Serienzustand. Wurden die Teile aufbewahrt, ist das die Arbeit eines Abends statt einer Teilebestellung und eines verschobenen Termins.
Kraftstoffdampf steigt auf
Deshalb muss die Entlüftung fachgerecht verlegt und abgeschlossen werden, statt sie einfach nach unten zu richten und zu vergessen.
