Füße nach vorn
Ducati hat einen echten Cruiser mit vorverlegten Fußrasten und Zahnriemenantrieb gebaut, und weiter hat sich das Unternehmen nie von einem Sportmotorrad entfernt.
Ein überwachtes Spülventil
Das Magnetventil, das die gespeicherten Dämpfe in den Ansaugtrakt dosiert, wird elektrisch überwacht. Schon das bloße Abziehen seines Steckers erzeugt einen Fehlereintrag, deshalb wird der Stromkreis geschlossen, statt ihn einfach offen zu lassen.
Nicht an jedem Motorrad
Ducati verbaut das System dort, wo die Vorschriften es verlangen, und lässt es anderswo weg. Deshalb können sich zwei scheinbar identische Maschinen unter dem Tank unterscheiden.
Schläuche verhärten
Nach einem Jahrzehnt sind die Leitungen steif geworden, die Schellen korrodiert, und die Verbindungen schwitzen. Der Ausbau der Baugruppe ist ebenso sehr Aufräumarbeit wie Umbau.
Der Kostenvergleich
Ein neuer Aktivkohlefilter kostet ein Mehrfaches eines Eliminator-Kits, und er wird mit der Zeit wieder gesättigt sein. Nur sehr wenige Besitzer ersetzen einen zweimal.
Wo er an einer Multistrada sitzt
Hinter dem Motor im Bereich der Umlenkung, und genau dort brauchen an einer Reiseenduro auch Gepäckträger und Sturzschutz ihre Befestigungspunkte.
Eine ehrliche Bilanz des Gewinns
Etwas Gewicht, ein brauchbares Maß an Platz und ein Bauteil weniger, das ohne Vorwarnung ausfallen kann. Kein Vorteil bei Leistung, Gasannahme oder Verbrauch.
Rückbaubar, wenn die Teile aufbewahrt werden
Nichts wird abgeschnitten, und jedes Originalteil wird mit seinen eigenen Befestigungsteilen wieder montiert. Erst wenn Aktivkohlefilter, Ventil und Schläuche gemeinsam in einem Beutel aufbewahrt werden, wird eine Prüfung oder ein Weiterverkauf zur einfachen Sache statt zu einer teuren Jagd nach Gebrauchtteilen.
Das Spülventil ist die elektrische Hälfte
Es ist ein kleines Magnetventil, das das Steuergerät öffnet, sobald der Motor warm ist, und es ist das Teil, das einen Fehler im Speicher hinterlässt, wenn die Bauteile verschwinden. Dass es vom eigentlichen Aktivkohlefilter getrennt ist, erklärt, warum das Kit neben einem Satz Verschlussstopfen auch einen Stecker enthält.
