Eine Panigale ohne Verkleidung
Ducati hat das V4-Superbike genommen, einen breiten Lenker montiert und die Verkleidung entfernt. Das Ergebnis ist eines der extremsten Naked Bikes, die jemals verkauft wurden.
Platz statt Gewicht
Der eigentliche Gewinn ist die Zugänglichkeit. Federbein-Einsteller, Umlenkungsschrauben und Auspuffhalter werden alle erreichbar, sobald die Baugruppe weg ist.
Ethanol verkürzt die Lebensdauer
Heutige Kraftstoffmischungen von der Zapfsäule setzen der Aktivkohle stärker zu als der Kraftstoff, für den das System ausgelegt wurde, und deshalb geben Aktivkohlefilter an neueren Maschinen früher auf als vorgesehen.
Nichts Tragendes
Der Halter trägt den Behälter und sonst nichts. Kein Teil des Rahmens, des Heckrahmens oder der Kraftstoffversorgung ist von seinem Ausbau betroffen.
Um das Gewicht geht es nicht
Anderthalb Kilogramm ändern nichts daran, wie sich das Motorrad fährt. Die Gründe sind der Platz und der Wegfall eines Bauteils, das ohne Vorwarnung ausfällt.
Der Behälter lässt sich nicht öffnen
Ducati liefert den Aktivkohlefilter verschlossen, eine gesättigte Füllung bedeutet also einen neuen statt einer Wartung. Diese Rechnung ist der Grund, warum so wenige Besitzer einen zweimal ersetzen.
Eine rechtliche, keine technische Frage
Was dem Ausbau der Begrenzung der Verdunstungsemissionen im Weg steht, ist rechtlicher und nicht mechanischer Natur. Das Motorrad läuft ohne sie einwandfrei und hätte das schon immer getan.
Ein Nachmittag, kein Abend
Der Ausbau selbst ist einfach, sobald Tank und Seitenverkleidungen abgenommen sind. Zeit kostet es, jeden Schlauch bis zu seinem Ende zu verfolgen und sicherzustellen, dass nichts offen bleibt, denn eine offene Dampfleitung in den Ansaugtrakt ist schlimmer, als der Aktivkohlefilter je war.
Schlauch ist nicht gleich Schlauch
Die Leitungen zwischen Tank, Aktivkohlefilter und Ansaugtrakt führen Dampf statt flüssigen Kraftstoff und sind entsprechend dimensioniert. Eine davon als Entlüftungsleitung weiterzuverwenden, nur weil sie zufällig die richtige Länge hat, ist genau die Art Abkürzung, die bis zum ersten heißen Tag funktioniert, und sie ist die zwanzig Minuten nicht wert, die sie spart.
