Ein Sportmotorrad, das man fahren kann
Ducati setzte den 937-cm³-Testastretta in einen Stahlgitterrohrrahmen mit Vollverkleidung und positionierte den Lenker so, dass ihn eine normale Person erreicht. Das ist das vernünftigste Sportmotorrad, das das Unternehmen baut.
Hundertdreizehn PS
Genug, um wirklich flott zu sein, und nicht so viel, dass das Motorrad zur Verhandlungssache wird. Ducati richtete die SuperSport an Fahrer, die Superbikes besessen und irgendwann aufgehört hatten, sie zu genießen.
Verstellbare Scheibe
Die Windschutzscheibe lässt sich werkzeuglos um fünfzig Millimeter verstellen. Eine Kleinigkeit, und doch der Unterschied zwischen einem Motorrad, das auf der Autobahn funktioniert, und einem, das es nicht tut.
Nur die Gasgriffeinheit
Der Schalterblock ist davon nicht betroffen. Es deckt allein das Gehäuse ab, der richtige Kauf, wenn die Schalter funktionieren und das gespritzte Kunststoffgehäuse Aufmerksamkeit braucht.
Gefräste Bohrung
Das Rohr dreht sich in einer gefrästen statt geformten Bohrung, die das Gefühl am Griff über Jahre konstant hält. Bei Ride-by-Wire erreicht diese Konstanz auch den Motor.
Schwarz eloxiert
Eine Oberfläche, in das Aluminium umgewandelt. Neben roter Verkleidung ist das die Option, die sich zurückhält, was ein Cockpit-Bauteil in der Regel tun sollte.
Aus Ergal gefräst
Die 7075er-Legierung mit etwa der doppelten Streckgrenze gewöhnlicher gefräster Legierungen. Bei einem am Lenker geklemmten Bauteil entscheidet das Material, ob es an Ort und Stelle bleibt.
Damals unterschätzt
Die SuperSport wurde freundlich besprochen und verkaufte sich verhalten, und wer eine kaufte, behält sie meist. Sie ist ein deutlich besseres Motorrad, als es ihre Verkaufszahlen vermuten ließen.
