Geformt für den Lenker
Die M-Version ist um einen einteiligen Lenker geschnitten statt um Stummellenker, was den Austrittswinkel der Seilzüge vollständig verändert. Es ist die richtige Wahl bei jeder Monster.
Hundertsechzig PS
Die stärkste Monster, die Ducati je gebaut hat, klar auf die Hyper-Naked-Klasse ausgerichtet. Sie kam mit erhöhter Sitzhöhe, Öhlins an beiden Enden und Carbon-Verkleidungsteilen.
Eine hochgelegte Auspuffanlage
Das Zwei-in-eins-in-zwei-System der R endet unter dem Heck und verändert die gesamte Silhouette. Es ist das Detail, an dem man eine R über einen Parkplatz hinweg erkennt.
Nur das Gehäuse
Dieses Teil lässt den Schalterblock unberührt. Es ersetzt die Gasgriffeinheit, die vernünftige Anschaffung, wenn die Schalterelektrik ordnungsgemäß funktioniert.
Die gefräste Bohrung
Das Rohr läuft in einer Bohrung, die geschnitten statt geformt wurde, was die Drehung des Griffs sauber hält und die Sensormessung über Jahre treu bleibt.
Schwarze Eloxierung
In das Metall eingebracht. Gegen Carbonverkleidungen und goldfarbenes Fahrwerk konkurriert sie weder, noch verschwindet sie unpassend.
Luftfahrtlegierung
Ergal 7075, mit etwa der doppelten Streckgrenze gewöhnlichen gefrästen Aluminiums. Bei einem Naked Bike wird das Material für den Sturz bei niedriger Geschwindigkeit gewählt, der irgendwann kommt.
Eine kurze Bauzeit
Ducati baute die 1200 R nur wenige Saisons, bevor die gesamte 1200er-Baureihe abgelöst wurde. Das hat sie interessant gehalten und ihre Besitzer aufmerksam.
Erhöht, nicht gesenkt
Ducati erhöhte die Sitzhöhe der R, statt dem Markt zu niedrigeren Sitzbänken zu folgen. Das verschärfte die Geometrie und machte das Motorrad deutlich williger beim Einlenken.
Gegen die Hyper-Nakeds
Ducati zielte mit der R auf die Super Duke und die Tuono statt auf den Rest der eigenen Modellpalette, was bedeutete, bei der Leistung gleichzuziehen und beim Gewicht zu übertreffen. Ganz überholt hat sie keine der beiden je, und sie bleibt die einzige Monster, die wirklich gebaut wurde, um in dieser Klasse zu bestehen, statt nur den Familiennamen in der Preisliste zu halten.
