Ein Cruiser, der keiner ist
Ducati baute ein Motorrad mit einem 240er-Hinterreifen, niedriger Sitzbank und weit vorn platzierten Fußrasten – und gab ihm dann 159 PS und ein Fahrwerk, das in Kurven funktioniert. An dieser Kombination sollte eigentlich nichts funktionieren, und doch tut es das.
Variable Ventilsteuerung
Der 1262-cm³-Testastretta-DVT-Motor verstellt beide Nockenwellen kontinuierlich. Das erlaubt es einem Triebwerk mit diesem Hubraum, in der Stadt ruhig zu laufen und dennoch schon ab dreitausend Umdrehungen kräftig zu ziehen.
Hundertneunundzwanzig Newtonmeter
Der Drehmomentwert prägt den Diavel mehr als die Leistungsangabe. Es setzt fast sofort ein und bleibt erhalten, weshalb sich das Motorrad schneller anfühlt, als es die Zahlen vermuten lassen.
Nur das Gehäuse
Dieses Teil ersetzt die Gasgriffeinheit und lässt den Schalterblock unberührt. Es ist die richtige Wahl, wenn die Schalter einwandfrei funktionieren und nur das Kunststoffgehäuse das Problem ist.
Weit zum Lenker
Die Sitzposition des Diavel bringt die Hände weit nach vorn, sodass das Handgelenk den Gasgriff in einem ungewöhnlichen Winkel betätigt. Ein Gehäuse mit präziser Bohrung sorgt dafür, dass diese Bewegung berechenbar bleibt.
Schwarz eloxiert
In das Aluminium umgewandelt statt aufgetragen. Bei einem Motorrad mit so viel sichtbar bearbeitetem Metall fügt sich ein zurückhaltendes Cockpit-Bauteil problemlos ein.
Gefräst aus Ergal 7075
Eine Luftfahrtlegierung mit etwa der doppelten Streckgrenze gewöhnlichen gefrästen Aluminiums. Sie hält eine Klemmfläche am Lenker dauerhaft, statt sich mit der Zeit zu lockern.
Für lange Strecken gefahren
Diavel-Modelle legen eher Kilometer als Rundenzeiten zurück. Jahre an Wetter und Laufleistung sind das, was ein Gasgriffgehäuse an diesem Motorrad tatsächlich aushalten muss, und eine Formnaht ist die Stelle, an der sich das irgendwann zeigt.
