Hundertdreizehn PS
Aus dem 937-cm³-Testastretta, unverändert gegenüber der Standard-V2. Der Aufpreis der S fließt vollständig in die Federung und die Ausstattung.
Aktivkohle in einem Behälter
Sie nimmt Benzindampf auf, der aus einem warmen Tank aufsteigt, und hält ihn zurück, bis der Motor ihn über die Ansaugung abziehen kann. Das ist der gesamte Mechanismus.
Die Verlegung fotografieren
Zwei Minuten mit einer Kamera, bevor etwas gelöst wird, machen den späteren Wiedereinbau unkompliziert, denn die Schlauchführung lässt sich nicht aus dem Gedächtnis rekonstruieren.
Schläuche verhärten
Nach einem Jahrzehnt sind die Leitungen steif geworden, die Klemmen korrodiert und die Verbindungen undicht. Die Gruppe zu entfernen ist ebenso Instandhaltung wie Umbau.
Schläuche kennzeichnen
Jede Leitung beim Abnehmen zu markieren macht aus einem künftigen Wiedereinbau eine einfache Umkehrung statt eines Rätsels. Kreppband und ein Stift kosten nichts.
Eine kleine Arbeit mit langer Erklärung
Die Arbeit dauert einen Abend, und die Begründung dahinter dauert deutlich länger darzulegen, was eine faire Beschreibung der meisten Emissionsänderungen ist.
Dampf ist kein Abfall
Das System existiert, um zu verbrennen, was sonst entweichen würde, was eine vernünftige Idee ist. Der Einwand richtet sich gegen die Hardware, nicht gegen das Prinzip.
Die Entlüftung ist nicht optional
Ein Kraftstofftank muss atmen. Wird der Behälter entfernt, ohne eine ordentliche Entlüftung vorzusehen, zieht der Tank entweder ein Vakuum und verhungert den Motor, oder er baut Druck auf und drückt Kraftstoff an einer unpassenden Stelle heraus. Das Kit liefert aus diesem Grund eine Armatur, und das ist der Teil der Arbeit, den niemand improvisieren sollte.
Schläuche sind nicht alle gleich
Die Leitungen zwischen Tank, Behälter und Ansaugung führen Dampf statt flüssigen Kraftstoff und sind entsprechend dimensioniert. Eine davon als Entlüftungsleitung zu verwenden, nur weil sie die passende Länge hat, ist die Art Abkürzung, die funktioniert, bis ein heißer Tag kommt, und sie ist die ersparten zwanzig Minuten nicht wert.
