Already a Race Bike
This machine arrives without lights, mirrors or any route to registration. Fitting a quick throttle to one is not a modification away from its intended purpose; it is completing a specification Yamaha stopped short of for production reasons.
Why the Conversion Is Common Here
Every YZF-R1 RACE is used on a circuit, because there is nowhere else it can legally go. The proportion of them receiving a shortened throttle is therefore considerably higher than for the road bike it descends from.
The Standard Cluster Cannot Stay
It is built around the throttle tube. This unit takes over the starter and engine stop functions on an independent clamp, pre-wired for Yamaha's connector so the electronics see no change whatsoever.
Nothing Spliced
The factory loom is untouched. Traction, slide and lift control, launch control and the power modes all continue to work as calibrated, and the machine remains diagnosable.
Built for Transport and Washing
Military-specification sealed contacts inside a one-piece machined body. A bike that lives in a van and is cleaned hot after every outing meets water far more often than a road motorcycle does.
A Single Finish
Titanium anodised, converted into the surface rather than applied on top. Against the RACE's blue and black bodywork it marks the component as intentional without adding a colour.
A Machine That Never Sees a Road
Every hour this motorcycle runs is on a circuit, which changes what matters about a component. Nobody cares how it looks parked outside a cafe; what counts is whether it works identically on the fourth session of a hot Sunday.
An Independent Clamp
The switch mounts to the bar rather than to the throttle tube, so the throttle can be changed as the setup develops over a season without disturbing anything electrical.
