An Unusual Conversion on a Tourer
Quick throttles are associated with circuits and enduro riding, and a 150 hp adventure bike is neither. The overlap exists because riders using an 1190 hard on demanding roads find the standard travel longer than the engine's responses justify.
What the LC8 Delivers
A 75 degree V-twin making 150 hp with a torque curve that starts working immediately. On an engine like this the delay between wrist and response is more noticeable than on a peaky four, which is the practical case for shortening it.
The Switch Block Moves
KTM integrates the right-hand controls into the throttle assembly, so removing one removes the other. This unit restores the starter and kill functions on an independent bar clamp using the motorcycle's own connector.
Positioned Over a Long Day
On a bike ridden for hours at a stretch, where the switch sits is a comfort question rather than a detail. A bar-mounted unit can be slid and rotated to where the thumb rests when the wrist is relaxed rather than where the tube ends.
Cruise Control Unaffected
Only the throttle-side controls move. The cruise control, the riding modes and the display navigation on the left cluster all continue to work exactly as before, and the ECU sees no change of any kind.
Sealed for Weather
Military-specification contacts inside a machined body. An adventure bike is used when the forecast is poor, and the sealing is what determines whether the controls behave the same at the end of a wet week.
Titanium
A single finish. On a cockpit already carrying guards, a navigation mount and often auxiliary switches, it marks the component as intentional without adding to the visual clutter.
