Ein richtig eingestellter Spiegel fühlt sich falsch an. Er zeigt fast nichts vom eigenen Motorrad und fast die ganze Spur daneben, und das sieht für die meisten Fahrer nach einem Fehler aus. Also drehen die meisten ihre Spiegel stillschweigend wieder nach innen, bis am Rand die eigene Schulter wieder auftaucht.

Richtig eingestellt fühlt er sich falsch an
Die Schulter im Glas ist beruhigend und nutzlos zugleich. Alles, was sie einnimmt, ist Raum, den man mit einer Kopfdrehung ohnehin sehen kann, und der Teil der Straße, den sie verdeckt, ist genau der, den man so nicht sehen kann. Die Spiegel richtig einzustellen, kostet einmal eine bewusste Anstrengung, und danach heißt es, sie in Ruhe zu lassen.
Dafür braucht es eine Befestigung, die hält
All das zählt nichts, wenn die Einstellung wandert. Ein gefräster Aluminiumarm in einer festen Klemmung hält die Position, zu der man sich durchgerungen hat; ein nachgiebiger Stiel kehrt dorthin zurück, wohin ihn der Fahrtwind drückt.
Lenkerstummel, mattschwarz
Der tiefere Lenker der X verändert, wo die Spiegelaufnahmen sitzen, und der geformte Kopf deckt von dort aus den nötigen Bereich ab. Matt ausgeführt und je Seite erhältlich.
Straßenzulassung
In Europa nach UN-Regelung Nr. 81 als E1*81R00/02*0143 typgenehmigt. Die Genehmigung erfasst den Spiegel als Rückspiegel für zwei- und dreirädrige Fahrzeuge, deshalb darf er ohne weitere Formalitäten an einem zugelassenen Motorrad montiert werden.
