Ein anderer Lenker für die GP
Die 890 Duke GP hat einen sportlicheren Charakter als die Standard-Duke. Ein breiter konischer Lenker bringt mehr Hebel und eine offenere Armhaltung, die manche Fahrer auf längeren Touren bevorzugen. Das verändert den Charakter, deshalb vor der Entscheidung überlegen, wie das Motorrad genutzt wird.

Die Rechtslage hängt davon ab, um welche 890 Duke es sich handelt. Die ABE deckt den Lenker an der 890 Duke und der 890 Duke R mit einer gemeinsamen EU-Typgenehmigung ab, schließt ihn an der Duke GP aber aus. Vor dem Anbau an ein zugelassenes Motorrad Feld K der Zulassungsbescheinigung prüfen.
Straßenzulassung
Die ABE Nr. KBA 91440 führt die 890 Duke und die 890 Duke R mit der EU-Typgenehmigung e1*168/2013*00063* für den GTO-L auf, in den Originalklemmen oder in der 2DGT-Lenkererhöhung von Gilles. Für die 890 Duke GP (e1*168/2013*00083* und 00084*) kennzeichnet die Fahrzeugliste den Lenker als nicht zutreffend und genehmigt nur die 2DGT-Lenkererhöhung mit dem Originallenker. Die Preisliste von Gilles weist für die GP eine ABE aus, das ABE-Dokument selbst deckt sie aber nicht ab; an einer Duke GP braucht der Lenker für den Straßenverkehr eine Einzelabnahme. Feld K der Zulassungsbescheinigung zeigt die Nummer der Typgenehmigung.

Geliefert wird ein einzelner konischer GTO-L-Lenker in der gewählten Farbe. Griffe, Lenkerendengewichte und Bedienelemente werden vom Motorrad übernommen und sind nicht enthalten.
