Die DL1050 hat behalten, was die V-Strom nützlich machte, und die Elektronik drumherum geschärft. Nicht verändert hat sie die Aufgabe der linken Hand, und die besteht an einem Motorrad dieser Größe vor allem aus Kontrolle bei niedrigem Tempo, mit vollem Tank und Gepäck an Bord.

Material
Aluminium aus dem Vollen, gefräst, schwarz eloxiert, am Drehpunkt phosphatiert. Die gefräste Gilles-Fläche auf der Oberseite gibt der Fingerkuppe im Handschuh immer denselben Platz, und das zählt mehr, als es klingt, wenn der Handschuh dick und das Motorrad schwer ist.
Den Kupplungspunkt einstellen
Das zentrale Rad so weit drehen, bis der Kupplungspunkt dort liegt, wo die Finger ohnehin sind. Das bei laufendem Motor und eingelegtem Gang tun, denn der Punkt, den man auf dem Ständer spürt, ist nicht der, der sich ergibt, wenn die Kupplung tatsächlich unter Last steht. Mit 35 flachen Raststufen lässt sich um genau eine Stufe verstellen, statt übers Ziel hinauszuschießen.
Gewicht macht die Griffweite wichtig
Eine beladene DL1050 wird im Schritttempo an der Kupplung gehalten. Steht der Hebel ein paar Millimeter zu weit ab, muss sich die Hand jedes Mal ganz öffnen, und bei einem schweren Motorrad ist das der Unterschied zwischen souveränem Rangieren und einem Fuß, der den Boden sucht.
Straßenzulassung
Für deutsche Straßen zugelassen mit ABE Nr. KBA 91203. Weder eine Eintragung in die Fahrzeugpapiere noch eine Abnahme durch eine Prüforganisation ist nötig; das ausgedruckte ABE-Dokument von dieser Seite mitführen.
Lieferumfang
Ein einzelner schwarzer Kupplungshebel für die DL1050 V-Strom. Die Schalterbetätigung wird vom Serienhebel übernommen und gehört nicht zum Lieferumfang.
