DescriptionThe whole story▼
The air-cooled Thruxton put clip-ons and a cafe-racer stance on Triumph's Bonneville platform, which is a riding position adopted for its looks as much as its function. Looks-first positions are exactly the ones where controls end up in awkward places.
Key Features
- Central adjuster wheel, reachable from the riding position
- Folding blade that swings clear instead of snapping off
- Engineered break point inside the two-finger zone
- Phosphated pivot seat, free of play from new
- CNC-machined from solid aluminium, black anodised
- Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203
Finish and Material
Machined from billet aluminium, anodised black, pivot bore phosphated separately. Nothing on the blade but the milled Gilles face — a deliberate choice on a bike where a modern-looking accessory would break the effect entirely.
Clip-Ons on a Classic
Dropping the bars rolls the wrist forward and shortens the comfortable reach, but the Thruxton's lever was carried over from a machine with a much more upright position. Thirty-five detents are what close that gap.
Older Hydraulics, Clearer Feel
The front brake here is honest rather than fierce, which means what you feel through the lever matters more than how hard it bites. A pivot without play is the difference between feeling the tyre and feeling the lever.
Road Approval
Carries ABE No. KBA 91203 for German public roads. Print the certificate from this page and keep it with the papers; no entry or inspection is required.
