Die Zündschlossabdeckung ist ein kleines Paneel an einer Stelle, die Ihre Hand vor jeder Fahrt berührt. Es ist die Art Teil, die zuletzt gekauft und zuerst bemerkt wird, weil sie dort sitzt, wo der Blick landet, wenn man sich dem Motorrad von vorn links nähert und nach der Zündung greift.

Kleine Teile, summierte Wirkung
In jedem Carbonaufbau kommt der Punkt, an dem die großen Paneele fertig sind und nur noch Details bleiben. Dieses Teil gehört dazu, und sein Wert liegt vollständig in der Stimmigkeit: Ein Motorrad mit Carbon-Tankverkleidungen und einer Zündschlossblende aus lackiertem Kunststoff wirkt unfertig – auf eine Weise, die man erst benennen kann, wenn man es behoben hat.
Es ist außerdem auf kleine Weise funktional. Der Bereich um einen Zündzylinder sammelt über Jahre feine Kratzer von Schlüsselkanten, und auf einer lackierten Fläche werden die weiß. Auf Carbon nicht, besonders nicht in matt.

Zu diesem Preis kostet das Teil weniger als sein eigener Versand, was es zu einem schlechten Einzelkauf und einer naheliegenden Ergänzung jeder anderen Bestellung macht. Die meisten legen es zu den Tankverkleidungen oder zur Sitzabdeckung dazu.
Wird es doch allein gekauft, dann in der Ausführung, die für den Rest des Motorrads vorgesehen ist, und nicht in der günstigsten. Eine Satin-Zündschlossabdeckung neben matten Tankverkleidungen ist genau die kleine Unstimmigkeit, die gerade deshalb ärgert, weil das Teil billig war.
