Dies ist das Paar: Zahnriemenabdeckungen für den horizontalen und den vertikalen Zylinder des 1262er Testastretta DVT. Ducatis L-Twin stellt diese Abdeckungen in zwei sehr unterschiedliche Winkel, und beide sind sichtbar – die vordere von der Seite, die hintere von oben, wenn man auf dem Motorrad sitzt. Eine ohne die andere zu ersetzen ist der Fehler, den man bereut.

Carbon ist kein gleichmäßig aussehendes Material. Geweberichtung, Harzverteilung und der Winkel, in dem Licht auf die Oberfläche fällt, schwanken zwischen Produktionslosen leicht, und zwei im Abstand eines Jahres gekaufte Abdeckungen können sich selbst in derselben Spezifikation unterscheiden. Als Satz gekauft, stammen sie aus demselben Lauf und passen zusammen.
Dieses Argument gilt nicht für einen Kettenschutz oder einen Kotflügel, neben dem nichts zum Vergleich liegt. Hier sind die beiden Abdeckungen durch etwa dreißig Zentimeter Motor getrennt und werden ständig gemeinsam gesehen – genau die Situation, in der eine Abweichung auffällt.
Der Zahnriemenservice bleibt unberührt
Eine berechtigte Sorge bei Carbon-Motorabdeckungen ist, ob sie den Serviceplan verkomplizieren. Tun sie nicht. Der Satz nutzt das Originalbohrbild und den originalen Schraubentyp, und die Abdeckungen gehen bei einer Zahnriemenkontrolle oder einem Riemenwechsel genauso ab wie die Serienteile.
Der einzige praktische Unterschied: Carbon verzeiht überdrehte Schrauben schlechter als der originale Kunststoff. Arbeiten Sie mit dem Werkstattwert statt nach Gefühl, vor allem beim Wiedereinbau durch jemanden, der nicht weiß, dass die Abdeckungen aus Carbon sind.
