Als Ducati 2020 Doppeldecker-Winglets an ein Naked Bike setzte, tat der Hersteller etwas, das kein anderer an einem Straßenmotorrad getan hatte: Er nahm ein Bauteil aus dem Superbike und machte es zum bestimmenden optischen Merkmal einer Maschine, an der es gar keine Verkleidung zum Anschrauben gibt. Die Winglets sind der Grund, warum die erste Streetfighter V4 schon an der Silhouette erkennbar ist.

Zwei Flächen statt einer
Eine Doppeldecker-Anordnung ist schwerer zu fertigen als ein einzelnes Blatt, weil es zwei Profilebenen und eine Verbindungsstruktur gibt und alle drei im richtigen Verhältnis zueinander aus der Form kommen müssen. Der Abstand zwischen oberem und unterem Element gehört zur Konstruktion, und ein Laminat, das ihn ein wenig schließt, ist nicht mehr die Form, die Ducati gezeichnet hat.

Twill in Klarlack ist die Alternative für alle, die das Muster auch aus größerer Entfernung sehen wollen; die Diagonale wirkt dort noch, wo ein feines Schachbrett verschwimmt. Matt und Roh passen zu einem zurückhaltend aufgebauten Motorrad – eine vertretbare Position bei einer Maschine, deren Winglets ohnehin laut genug sind.
