Das Paneel, das Ihre Kleidung berührt
Jedes Motorrad hat eine Fläche, die still Schaden durch den Fahrer statt durch die Straße sammelt, und bei einer Diavel ist es diese. Reißverschlüsse, Gürtelschnallen und Jackensäume streifen bei jedem Halt darüber, und lackierter Kunststoff hält all das als feinen Schleier fest, der nur im Streiflicht sichtbar wird – bis er eines Tages in jedem Licht sichtbar ist.
Carbon löst das nicht vollständig, aber es verschiebt die Verhältnisse. Ein ausgehärtetes Laminat unter Klarlack ist erheblich härter als Lack auf Kunststoff, und die matten und rohen Ausführungen haben von vornherein keinen Glanz zu verlieren. Wird das Motorrad gefahren statt ausgestellt, ist matt hier die pragmatische Antwort.
Ein Tankpad darunter erwägen
Carbon ist härter als lackierter Kunststoff, aber nicht unverwundbar, und was es markiert, ist eine Gürtelschnalle unter Last. Wer in Kombi mit Beschlägen an der Taille fährt, sollte ein klares Tankpad über dem Carbon nicht als Eingeständnis sehen – es ist das, was das Paneel in fünf Jahren noch wertvoll macht.
Die Alternative ist, den Verschleiß zu akzeptieren und eine Ausführung zu wählen, die ihn schluckt. Matt und roh tun das gut. Ein Klarlack unter einer Schnalle wird an genau einer Stelle stumpf – und diese Stelle ist die Mitte des Paneels.
