Übersetzungsänderungen und wiederholte Demontage
Wer dieses Motorrad auf verschiedenen Kursen bewegt, wechselt das vordere Ritzel, und diese Abdeckung kommt jedes Mal ab. Genau wiederholte Demontage tötet ein Kunststoffteil: Die Schraubdome werden durch Wärmezyklen weich und reißen dann aus. Ein ausgehärtetes Laminat mit eingeformten Einsätzen hält dieselbe Behandlung weit länger aus – an einem Rennstreckenmotorrad ein praktisches und kein ästhetisches Argument.

Im Autoklav ausgehärtete Epoxidlaminate halten ihre Form bei den Temperaturen, die ein Kurbelgehäuse im Stadtverkehr erreicht, und dieses Teil sitzt im Fahrtwind und nicht an einem Zylinderkopf. Es ist kein Hitzeschild für eine Abgasanlage und sollte auch nicht so behandelt werden, aber nichts an dieser Einbaulage verlangt dem Material mehr ab, als es leisten kann.
