Alles an diesem Teil ist davon bestimmt: der Freiraum dahinter, die Temperatur, die es auf einer schnellen Runde erreicht, und wie lange eine Oberfläche dort hält, verglichen mit demselben Teil auf der anderen Seite.

Wärme ist die Stellgröße
Im Autoklaven ausgehärtetes Epoxid-Carbon ist weit über allem stabil, was eine Verkleidung im normalen Betrieb sieht. Der Klarlack einer glänzenden Schale ist aber das Erste, was die Farbe ändert, wenn er lange genug dicht an einem heißen Rohr sitzt. Wer eine volle Rennanlage fährt und ganze Sitzungen unter hoher Last verbringt, nimmt hier oft Matt oder Raw und links die glänzende Ausführung, weil eine stumpfe Oberfläche Hitzespuren weniger zeigt.
Die serienmäßige Wärmedämmung bleibt, wo Ducati sie hingesetzt hat. Eine Carbonschale ersetzt sie nicht, und wer sie für ein paar Millimeter Luft entfernt, gart sein Verkleidungsteil.
Kleinere Schäden am Rand lassen sich von einem Faserbetrieb laminieren, solange das Gewebe nicht auf ganzer Breite gebrochen ist. Ein Riss quer durch eine Befestigung dagegen ist das Ende der Schale, weil dort die Last eingeleitet wird.

Straßenzulassung
