Der Lichtmaschinendeckel sitzt links am Motor und ist die größte der drei Gehäuseabdeckungen. An einem Motorrad, das irgendwann in seinem Leben abgelegt wird – und die meisten M1000RR werden das, absichtlich, auf einer Rennstrecke –, kommt er auf dieser Seite zuerst dort an.

Die eine, auf der das Gewebe wirkt
Von den drei Motorabdeckungen hat nur diese genug Fläche, damit ein Twill-Muster als Muster wirkt und nicht als Textur. An den anderen beiden ist die Diagonale eine Oberflächeneigenschaft; hier ist sie aus zwei Metern ein sichtbares Merkmal.
Damit ist sie die Abdeckung, für die sich Geld lohnt, wenn nur eine aus Carbon sein soll – und diejenige, bei der die Lackwahl tatsächlich verändert, wie die Seite des Motorrads aussieht.

Zulassung
Fullsix weist für dieses Teil weder eine ABE noch eine EG-Betriebserlaubnis aus. Das Motorgehäuse wird nicht geöffnet – klären Sie die Lage für Ihre eigene Zulassung dennoch vor dem Straßeneinsatz.
Was eine Abdeckung übersteht
Bei einem Umfaller in der Garage nimmt diese Abdeckung die Marke auf, die sonst am Gehäuse landen würde – das ist den Preis für sich wert. Bei einem Rutscher mit Tempo wird sie zerstört, und alles andere dieser Form ebenso.
Wer eine M auf die Strecke bringt, montiert zusätzlich echten Gehäuseschutz und betrachtet dies als das Teil, das das Motorrad fertig aussehen lässt. Roh ist die sinnvolle Ausführung an einer Maschine, die Turns fährt; Klarlack an einer, die Frühstücksfahrten macht.
