Ein Motorrad, das zum Zerlegen gebaut wurde
BMW hat die R nineT um den Umbau herum entworfen. Der Heckrahmen ist verschraubt, die Verkleidungsteile gehen ab, der Kabelbaum rechnet mit Veränderungen, und das Werk hat es bei der Vorstellung auch so gesagt. Nur wenige Hersteller machen das absichtlich.
In der Praxis heißt das: Ein Carbonkotflügel ist hier kein Fremdkörper, sondern genau das, wofür die Plattform gezeichnet wurde. Es heißt aber auch, dass das Originalteil aufzuheben ist, denn R-nineT-Besitzer ändern ihre Meinung, und Serienteile behalten ihren Wert.
Gewicht dort, wo die Lenkung es merkt
Der serienmäßige Kotflügel ist lackiertes Stahlblech. Ihn gegen Laminat zu tauschen nimmt ungefederte Masse vor der Lenkachse weg, und das ist die eine Stelle am Motorrad, an der ein paar hundert Gramm am Lenker ankommen statt nur in einer Tabelle.

Fullsix weist für dieses Teil weder eine ABE noch eine EG-Typgenehmigung aus.

Jede Schraube von Hand ansetzen und gleichmäßig anziehen, damit sich der Kotflügel nicht verdreht. Freigang bei eingefederter Gabel prüfen.
