Zwölfhundertzweiundsechzig Kubikzentimeter Drehmoment
Die 1260 hat ihren Motor aus der XDiavel übernommen und auf die Mitte ausgelegt. Ducatis eigene Angabe war, dass ab 3.500 Umdrehungen fünfundachtzig Prozent des maximalen Drehmoments anliegen – so eine Zahl klingt nach Marketing, bis man sich einen Kettensatz bei zwanzigtausend Kilometern ansieht.
Ketten arbeiten an diesem Motorrad. Das heißt häufiger nachstellen, das heißt, dieser Schutz kommt öfter ab und dran, als das Teil vermuten lässt – und damit ist der Zustand seiner Befestigungslöcher mehr wert als ein eingespartes Gramm.
Der zweite Grund für die Leiste ist banaler und wird trotzdem unterschätzt: Eine frisch gefettete Kette wirft in den ersten hundert Kilometern nach jedem Service, und ohne Abdeckung landet das auf der Unterseite des linken Koffers.

Zulassung
Fullsix weist für dieses Teil weder eine ABE noch eine EG-Betriebserlaubnis aus. Die Kettenabdeckung ist in mehreren Märkten Bauvorschrift, und dieses Teil erhält sie.
Montage
Leicht anziehen. Prüfen, dass der Schutz bei voller Einfederung und größtem zulässigen Durchhang die Kette nicht erreicht, und nach einem Kettenradwechsel erneut prüfen.
