Im Stehen auf den Rasten fährt man eine DesertX, sobald der Asphalt aufhört – und jedes Mal schleift die Stiefelferse über dieselbe Stelle am Rahmen. Der Fersenschutz ist das Opferblech, das diesen Abrieb anstelle des Lacks aufnimmt. In Carbon nimmt er ihn besser auf, und er ist das günstigste Teil im Fullsix-Programm für die DesertX.

Ein Verschleißteil sollte günstig zu ersetzen sein
Es spricht viel dafür, dieses Teil roh zu bestellen. Es wird im ersten Monat von einer Stiefelsohle zerkratzt sein, ein spiegeltiefer Klarlack ist daran also weitgehend verschwendet. Rohes Carbon kostet weniger, wiegt geringfügig weniger und entwickelt eine gebrauchte statt einer beschädigten Optik.
Was Carbon gegenüber dem Original beisteuert, ist schlicht Härte. Ein Thermoplastschutz poliert sich glatt und wird dann dünner; ein ausgehärtetes Laminat widersteht dem Abrieb deutlich länger, bevor das Gewebe durchkommt. Wenn es so weit ist, schrauben Sie es ab und montieren ein neues.
Hinweis zur Bestellung
Dies ist ein Einzelteil, kein Paar. Ducati verbaut den Fersenschutz nur auf einer Seite, und das Fullsix-Teil folgt dem Original. Wenn Sie zwei Teile erwartet haben: Als Links-rechts-Satz kommen in diesem Programm die Handprotektoren, die Rahmenabdeckungen, die inneren Seitenverkleidungen und die Seitenverkleidungen.
Weil es das günstigste Teil im Programm ist, ist es auch der übliche Erstkauf – das Teil, das man bestellt, um zu sehen, ob Gewebe und Oberfläche am eigenen Motorrad stimmen, bevor man sich für einen Seitenverkleidungssatz entscheidet. Wenn das der Plan ist, bestellen Sie es in der Ausführung, die Sie durchgängig verwenden wollen, nicht in der günstigsten – sonst sagt die Probe nichts aus.
