Wann sie etwas bringen und wann nicht
Bremsenkühlung zählt am Ende einer langen Geraden auf der Rennstrecke, wiederholt, mit einem Fahrer, der aus hohem Tempo hart verzögert. Für diese Situation sind sie gezeichnet.
Auf der Straße leisten sie sehr wenig, weil Straßenbremsungen nicht genug Wärme in einen Sattel bringen, als dass Kühlung die Grenze wäre. Wer sie für ein Straßenmotorrad kauft, kauft eine Optik – und daran ist nichts falsch, solange es der tatsächliche Grund ist.

Weil die Kanäle am Sattelkörper sitzen, lautet die Frage nicht, welches Motorrad Sie fahren, sondern welche Sättel daran sind. Die R1 ab 2020 fährt serienmäßig Brembo-Sättel vorn, und genau deshalb ist dieses Teil für das Modell überhaupt relevant. Ein Motorrad mit anderen Sätteln, ab Werk oder aus dem Zubehör, nimmt es womöglich nicht auf.
