Schild und Schildabdeckung sind zweierlei
Dieser Artikel, C61, ist das Schild selbst. MD-MN14-C61C heißt Protector Cover und ist ein eigenes Teil. Die beiden sind keine Alternativen für dieselbe Aufgabe, und das eine zu bestellen, wenn man das andere meint, ist der häufigste Fehler in dieser Ecke des Katalogs.

Nur die Serienanlage
Die Form stammt von Ducatis Schalldämpfer. Ein Zubehördämpfer verändert Durchmesser und Laschenposition, und an Monstern wird häufiger der Auspuff getauscht als an den meisten Modellen. Ist eine Anlage geplant, kommt sie zuerst und dieses Schild danach. Andersherum bleibt ein Teil übrig, das nach dem Anprobieren nicht mehr rücksendbar ist.

Straßenzulassung
Fullsix weist für dieses Teil weder eine ABE noch eine EG-Typgenehmigung aus. Die Abgasanlage selbst bleibt unverändert.
Montage
Kalte Maschine, originale Abstandshalter behalten und den Luftspalt zwischen Schild und Dämpfer so lassen, wie er konstruiert ist. Danach einmal auf Temperatur bringen und vor der ersten Fahrt kontrollieren, dass sich nichts bewegt hat. Wärmedehnung arbeitet gegen jede Verschraubung an einer Abgasanlage.
