Entwickelt für Fahrer, die bei der Sicherheit keine Kompromisse eingehen, verfügt er über die vollständige CE-Kategorie-II-Zertifizierung nach EN 1621-2:2014 Level 2 und ist für Fahrer mit einer Körpergröße von 170–185 cm (66.9–72.8 in) ausgelegt.

Der Wave 12 D1 AIR ist das Ergebnis jahrzehntelanger Motorsport-Zusammenarbeit von Dainese. Die perforierten Außenplatten sind nicht bloß eine gestalterische Entscheidung — sie bilden einen durchgehenden Belüftungskanal, der die Kerntemperatur über jede Runde hinweg beherrschbar hält, ein Detail, das bei mehrtägigen Trackdays entscheidend wird. Der innere Aluminium-Wabenrahmen stammt direkt aus dem Denken der Rennsport-Schutzausrüstung: leicht, aber in der Lage, Spitzenaufprallkräfte über eine große Fläche zu verteilen, sodass die Wirbelsäule im Falle eines Sturzes eine deutlich geringere konzentrierte Belastung erfährt.
Auf der Straße übersetzen sich dieselben Eigenschaften in einen Protektor, den Sie den ganzen Tag ohne Ermüdung tragen können. Der Double-Jersey-Lendenstreifen und die Schulterriemen passen sich dem Körper an, statt gegen ihn zu arbeiten, und der Lenden-Gelenkpunkt bewegt sich sowohl in geduckter als auch in aufrechter Fahrposition natürlich mit.
Materialien und Konstruktion
Die Außenschale wird aus Polypropylen in einer wellenförmigen, perforierten Geometrie geformt, die Steifigkeit und Flexibilität ausbalanciert. Darunter bietet die thermogeformte, umlaufende Stützstruktur mit doppelter Dichte eine zusätzliche Schicht struktureller Unterstützung rund um den Rand des Protektors. Der Crash Absorb® Schaumstoffkern ist das Herzstück des Energiemanagements im System, ausgelegt darauf, sich stufenweise zusammenzudrücken und nach Stößen geringer Energie wieder in seine Form zurückzukehren. Die Innenfutterpaneele bestehen aus atmungsaktivem Polyester-Mesh; die Verstellriemen für Lenden- und Schulterbereich verwenden Double-Jersey-Gewebe für hautfreundlichen Tragekomfort auch bei längerem Tragen.
