CH12055 ist das Carbonpaar, das die Schwinge der CBR600RR abdeckt. Die Schwinge liegt unmittelbar im Weg dessen, was der Hinterreifen aufnimmt, und unmittelbar unter der Kette — das macht sie nach dem Rahmen zum zweitmeist geschundenen Aluminiumteil des Motorrads.

Die Kette ist die eigentliche Gefahr
Steine zeichnen eine Schwinge; eine Kette kann sie ruinieren. Eine Kette, die bei Tempo abspringt — durch ein gebrochenes Glied, ein festsitzendes Schloss oder schlicht eine ungeprüfte Einstellung —, schlägt mit genug Kraft gegen die Schwinge, um Aluminium auszureißen, und am Rennmotorrad läuft die Kette näher an ihren Grenzen als am Straßenmotorrad. Ein Schutzteil rettet keine Schwinge vor einem echten Kettenriss, aber es nimmt den alltäglichen Kontakt auf, der lange davor stattfindet: das leichte Aufschlagen einer zu locker eingestellten Kette im Schubbetrieb, jedes Mal, wenn ein Fahrer das Gas hart zumacht.
Bei sauberer Schwinge montieren
Diese Teile kommen am besten früh im Aufbau dran, bevor die Schwinge eine Saison eingebrannten Kettenfetts trägt. Ein über eine bereits verschmutzte Fläche montierter Schutz schließt diesen Schmutz darunter ein, wo er feucht bleibt und unsichtbar am Aluminium arbeitet. Hat das Motorrad schon eine Saison hinter sich, die Schwinge ordentlich entfetten und trocknen lassen, statt das Problem zuzudecken.
Reinigung
Kettenfett sammelt sich hier und bringt Splitt mit. Die Schutzteile abwischen, wenn die Kette gereinigt wird, nicht zur Jahresinspektion — die Paste aus Fett und Splitt wirkt leicht schleifend und arbeitet über eine Saison am Laminat.
