Technik und Konstruktion
Jedes Element des GP TEK Sets wurde konsequent auf die Anforderungen des Motorradrennsports ausgelegt. Das Pre-Preg-Carbonfaser-Verfahren, das sowohl für die Felgen als auch für die Innendistanzstücke verwendet wird, gewährleistet eine konsistente Faserausrichtung und einen gleichmäßigen Harzanteil in jeder Lage und erzeugt so eine Struktur mit überlegenem Steifigkeits-Gewichts-Verhältnis im Vergleich zu konventionellen geschmiedeten Aluminiumrädern. Die Nabe aus 6082 T6 Aluminium wird CNC-gefräst mit engsten Toleranzen und bietet so eine präzise positionierte Schnittstelle zwischen Carbonfelge und Achse, Lagern und Bremskomponenten des Motorrads. An jeder kritischen Verbindungsstelle kommen Befestigungselemente aus Titan Grade 5 zum Einsatz, die die Festigkeit von Stahl bei einem Bruchteil des Gewichts liefern.
Leistung auf der Rennstrecke
Die Reduzierung der ungefederten Masse ist eine der wirksamsten Methoden, das dynamische Verhalten eines Motorrads zu verbessern. Leichtere Räder reagieren schneller auf Fahrwerksimpulse, verbessern die Konsistenz der Reifenaufstandsfläche beim Bremsen und in Kurven und reduzieren die Kreiselkräfte, die Schräglagenänderungen entgegenwirken können. Auf einer im Rennstreckenbetrieb eingesetzten ZX-10R liefert das GP TEK Set messbare Verbesserungen beim Einlenkverhalten und bei der Stabilität in der Kurvenmitte. Das Set wird serienmäßig in OEM-Größen geliefert; andere Größen sind auf Anfrage erhältlich.
