Der FM595/04RACE baut auf demselben Renn-Erbe auf, das BMC-Filter bereits in der Superbike-Weltmeisterschaft und in der MotoGP im Einsatz zeigt, und wurde speziell für das Fahrwerk der Yamaha YZF-R6 RJ15 und RJ27 der Baujahre 2008 bis 2026 entwickelt. Während das serienmäßige Papierelement den Luftstrom zugunsten der Massenfertigung einschränkt, ist das Race-Filtermedium von BMC so konstruiert, dass es deutlich mehr Luft in die Drosselklappen strömen lässt und dabei gleichzeitig eine Filtereffizienz beibehält, die den Motor zuverlässig schützt — eine kompromisslose Kombination, die serienmäßige Filter schlicht nicht bieten können.
