Eine 250er mit vier Zylindern
Kawasaki hat ein Format wiederbelebt, das man zuletzt in den Neunzigern sah: vier winzige Zylinder, sechzehn Ventile und ein Begrenzer jenseits von sechzehntausend. Sie leistet 43 PS, was jeder moderne 250er Twin auch schafft — aber sie leistet sie auf eine Art, wie es sonst nichts im Angebot tut.
Eine Anlage an diesem Motor arbeitet ebenso mit dem Klang wie mit den Zahlen. Ein kreischender Reihenvierzylinder bei fünfzehntausend Touren ist der ganze Grund, warum es dieses Motorrad gibt.
Warum die Werte klein sind
0,8 PS und 0,3 Nm. An einem 43-PS-Motor, der bereits an der Grenze dessen abgestimmt ist, was eine 250er kann, ist sehr wenig übrig — und Akrapovic veröffentlicht, was da ist, statt es aufzurunden.
Die 1,54 kg sind die aussagekräftigere Zahl. An einem 184-kg-Motorrad, entnommen weit oben auf der rechten Seite, ist das eine Veränderung, die ein Fahrer spürt, wo 0,8 PS es nicht sind.
Zulassung: wir klären das
Akrapovics Daten zu diesem Teil verzeichnen keine Typgenehmigung, und die Beschreibung nennt ebenfalls keine. Das ist für einen Slip-On an einer zugelassenen Maschine ungewöhnlich — statt zu raten, bestätigen wir die aktuelle Bescheinigung auf Anfrage bei Akrapovic.

Wo die ZX-25R verkauft wird
Kawasaki hat die ZX-25R vorrangig für Japan und Südostasien gebaut, wo 250 cm³ eine Führerschein- und Steuerklasse sind. Die europäische Verfügbarkeit war begrenzt und lief weitgehend über den Import — mit ein Grund, warum die Zulassungslage beim Zubehör weniger geklärt ist als bei einem Großserienmodell.
Ein kompakter Dämpfer für ein kompaktes Motorrad
Akrapovic hat den Dämpfer gegenüber dem Serienteil gekürzt. An einer Maschine, die einen 250-cm³-Motor in ein Fahrwerk voller Größe setzt, wirkt der Serienschalldämpfer überdimensioniert — er muss es sein, um mit vier kreischenden Zylindern die Geräuschgrenzen zu halten.
