Warum die Endkappe aus Titan ist und nicht aus Carbon
Die Endkappe ist der Teil eines Schalldämpfers, der etwas abbekommt — von Steinschlag, von einem Stiefel, vom Boden, wenn ein Motorrad umgeht. Und dort tritt das Abgas am heißesten aus. Carbon verträgt beides schlechter als Titan, deshalb setzt Akrapovic Carbon für die große Außenhülle ein, wo das Gewicht sitzt, und Titan für die kleine Endkappe, wo die Beanspruchung sitzt.
Die Prägungen darauf sind ebenfalls kein Schmuck: Ein gepresstes Muster versteift ein dünnes Blech, die Kappe kann also leichter ausfallen als eine glatte gleicher Festigkeit.
Eine 755er, bei der es nie um Spitzenleistung ging
Hondas CB750 Hornet leistet 92 PS aus 755 cm³ und wiegt 190 kg — ein Naked Bike der Mittelklasse, gekauft für sein Verhalten und nicht für eine Zahl. Akrapovic berichtet Zuwächse im mittleren bis oberen Bereich, und die Messung legt sie auf 5.250 und 5.300/min, was an diesem Motor die Mitte einer Landstraße ist.
Der größere Teil des Arguments sind 1,8 kg weniger am Heck eines leichten Motorrads — dort verändert es, wie schnell die Maschine in die Kurve fällt.
Der Name Hornet, und welche hier gemeint ist
Honda hat das Hornet-Emblem auf mehreren, nicht miteinander verwandten Motorrädern verwendet, und drei davon sind aktuell: die CB750 Hornet mit dem 755-cm³-Twin, die CB500 Hornet mit dem 471-cm³-Twin und die CB1000 Hornet mit dem Vierzylinder aus der Fireblade. Sie teilen einen Namen und sonst nichts, was hier zählt.
Dieser Dämpfer ist für die CB750. Für die CB500 Hornet ist es S-H5SO6-HRC, für die CB1000 Hornet SP S-H10SO30-HILT. Prüfen Sie den Hubraum in der Zulassungsbescheinigung und nicht das Emblem an der Seitenverkleidung.
Was serienmäßig bleibt
Krümmer, Katalysator und Motorsteuerung bleiben unangetastet, ein neues Mapping ist nicht nötig, und der herausnehmbare Geräuschdämpfer-Einsatz liegt bei — der Klang lässt sich also mit einer Schraube nah an der Serie halten oder öffnen.

S-H7SO5-HRC deckt die Honda CB750 Hornet von Modelljahr 2023 bis 2026 ab. Für die kleinere CB500-Familie ist S-H5SO6-HRC das passende Teil — ein anderer Dämpfer.
