Ein kurzer Dämpfer, der seitlich austritt statt unter dem Heck. Das ist das gesamte optische Argument dieser Anlage, und an einer MT-09 — einem Motorrad mit fast keiner Verkleidung, hinter der sich etwas verstecken ließe — ist es eine größere Veränderung, als die Zahlen vermuten lassen.

Woher der Leistungswert stammt
Akrapovic sagt ausdrücklich, dass die 4,5 PS bei 9.600/min in direkten Vergleichsläufen an einer MT-09 mit einer Racing Line aus Carbon gegen die Serienanlage gemessen wurden. Diese Titanausführung teilt sich den Aufbau, und Akrapovic veröffentlicht den Wert für sie — der Prüfstandslauf dahinter entstand aber mit dem Carbon-Geschwister.
Wir geben das weiter, statt es zu glätten. Der Unterschied zwischen beiden ist der Werkstoff der Dämpferhülle, der die Kurve kaum verschieben dürfte; die ehrliche Beschreibung der Zahl lautet aber: übertragen, nicht gesondert gemessen.
Schwarz, nicht blank
Die meisten Akrapovic-Titanteile bleiben blank und färben sich mit der Hitze. Diese Anlage ist von Anfang an schwarz beschichtet, mit einer unbeschichteten Titan-Endkappe als Kontrast. An einer MT-09 in Yamahas eigenen dunklen Farbstellungen wirkt das fertig statt nachgerüstet.
Was eine Racing Line ist
Eine Racing Line ist eine vollständige Anlage: Krümmer, Verbindungsrohre und Dämpfer in einem Paket, die alles vom Zylinderkopf an ersetzt. Das unterscheidet sie vom Slip-On, und deshalb kommen 2,56 kg herunter statt der wenigen hundert Gramm, die ein Dämpfer allein brächte.
Es ist auch der Grund, warum es keine Straßenzulassung gibt. Der Katalysator geht mit der Serienanlage.
Ein Dreizylinder will gehört werden
Yamahas CP3 ist ein 890-cm³-Dreizylinder mit ungleichen Zündabständen, und die Serienanlage steckt viel Aufwand darein, ihn leise zu halten. Eine vollständige Rennsportanlage nimmt diesen Aufwand vollständig heraus.
Akrapovic beschreibt das Ergebnis als auf den Motor abgestimmt und nicht schlicht als lauter — an einem Dreizylinder ist das der Unterschied, auf den es ankommt: Der Charakter ist bereits da, und die Anlage lässt ihn durch oder eben nicht.
Was sie ersetzt
Dies ist eine Komplettanlage, Serienkrümmer, Verbindungsrohre und Dämpfer kommen also zusammen herunter. Heben Sie sie auf: Eine MT-09 mit ihrer Originalanlage im Karton ist ein deutlich leichter zu verkaufendes Motorrad.
