Akrapovic hat die Studie zu dieser Anlage 2024 auf der EICMA gezeigt und sie dann weitgehend so gebaut, wie sie dort stand. Die Racing Line (Edelstahl) S-S8R1-HHAKESS ist eine einteilige Komplettanlage für die Suzuki-GSX-8-Familie, mit im Endtopf eingeschweißtem Katalysator, einer handgefertigten Carbonabdeckung über dem Austritt und voller EG- und ECE-Typgenehmigung nach Euro 5+. Sie legt 2,5 PS zu und nimmt 2,2 kg ab.

Von der Messe in die Serie
Die EICMA-Studie hat die Form vorgegeben, und die Serienanlage behält ihr bestimmendes Merkmal: das Ganze ist als eine einzige Edelstahleinheit geformt und nicht aus Krümmer, Verbindungsrohr und Topf zusammengesetzt. Diese Bauweise ist der Grund, warum der Katalysator in den Dämpferkörper wandern konnte — und ihn dorthin zu verlegen ist genau das, was einer Komplettanlage die Typgenehmigung erhält und ihr trotzdem Leistung erlaubt.
Die Carbonabdeckung ist die sichtbare Hälfte der Gestaltung. Sie ist von Hand laminiert, umschließt den Austritt und trägt ein Wabengitter, das den Auslass gegen Steinschlag schützt — ein Detail aus dem Langstreckensport, wo ein zugesetzter oder beschädigter Austritt das Rennen beendet.
Leistung und Klang
Der GSX-8-Reihenzweizylinder leistet serienmäßig 79,6 PS und mit dieser Anlage 81,0 PS, wobei der gemessene Zuwachs von 2,5 PS bei 9.500/min liegt und die 1,4 Nm mehr Drehmoment unten bei 5.500/min ankommen. Akrapovic nennt als Entwicklungsschwerpunkt das Ansprechverhalten statt einer Spitzenzahl, was zu einem Drehmomentzuwachs mitten im Bereich passt.
Der Ton ist für einen 776-cm³-Twin tief und sportlich, und ein herausnehmbarer Geräuschdämpfer-Einsatz liegt für Streckentage mit eigenem Limit bei. Die Montage dauert etwa eine Stunde, weil die Krümmer mit ausgebaut werden.
Passform
S-S8R1-HHAKESS deckt die gesamte Suzuki-GSX-8-Familie von Modelljahr 2022 bis 2026 ab: das nackte GSX-8S, die verkleidete GSX-8R, die GSX-8T und die GSX-8TT. Alle vier teilen Motor und Rahmen, und die Anlage ist so gestaltet, dass sie zusammen mit dem originalen Suzuki-Softkoffersatz montiert werden kann.
Akrapovic führt für diese Maschinen zusätzlich eine Racing Line aus Titan, S-S8R3-APLTBL, die keine Straßenzulassung trägt. Die typgenehmigte Ausführung ist diese hier aus Edelstahl.
Zulassung
EG-Typgenehmigung und ECE-Typgenehmigung, Euro-5+-konform. Die Bescheinigungen liegen der Anlage bei und stehen auf dieser Seite zum Download. Weil der Katalysator in der Anlage bleibt, wird nichts aus dem Abgasstrang entfernt und das Motorrad bleibt in der Europäischen Union straßenzugelassen.
