Die älteste der drei Yamaha-250er-Anlagen und die mit der kleinsten Gewichtsersparnis: ein halbes Kilogramm, 12,5 Prozent. Das Drehmoment gibt Akrapovic als unverändert bei 25,9 Nm an. Diese Anlage kauft man wegen der Bauart und der Haltbarkeit, nicht wegen einer Zahl.

Die ehrliche Lesart dieser Zahlen
Ein halbes PS und kein Drehmomentgewinn. Akrapovic veröffentlicht es so, und man sollte es auch so sagen: An dieser Generation liegt die Leistung nicht im Auspuff. Gekauft wird eine Titananlage, die keine Beulen bekommt, nicht rostet und ein halbes Kilo weniger wiegt als die Stahlanlage, die sie ersetzt.
Für ein Motorrad, das sein Leben mit Stürzen verbringt, ist das für sich genommen ein triftiger Grund — und ein anderer als der, der die Anlagen von 2019 und 2024 verkauft.
Evolution oder Racing
Akrapovic baut für dieselbe Generation eine Racing Line, Artikel S-Y2MR15-CIBNTA, mit identischen Messwerten zu einem niedrigeren Preis. Die Evolution Line ist der vollständigere Aufbau, die Racing Line der kürzere Weg zu denselben Zahlen. Beide stehen in diesem Shop.
Welche Jahre genau
Die YZ250F ist von 2014 bis 2018 abgedeckt, die YZ250FX 2015 bis 2016 und die WR250F 2015 bis 2018. Yamaha hat die 250er 2019 geändert; ab diesem Jahr heißt die Anlage S-Y2MET15-CIBNTA.

Warum die ältere Generation weniger gewinnt
Ein halbes PS und kein Drehmoment. Der Yamaha-250er von 2014 bis 2018 war bereits ein gut atmender Motor mit einem langen, sauber geformten Serienkrümmer — da bleibt für eine Zubehöranlage weniger zu korrigieren als an einem Motorrad, dessen Werksrohr auf Kosten gebaut wurde.
Das ist ein Kompliment an Yamaha und keine Kritik an Akrapovic — und der Grund, warum diese Anlage über ihren Aufbau verkauft wird und nicht über ein Prüfstandsdiagramm.
Titan gegen den Serienstahl
Das hier gesparte halbe Kilo ist kleiner als bei den späteren Anlagen, weil der Serienauspuff dieser Generation ohnehin schon recht leicht war. Was sich ändert, ist der Werkstoff: Titan rostet nach einer nassen Saison nicht von innen, und es beult, statt zu knicken, wenn das Motorrad hinfällt.
Über vier oder fünf Saisons ist das der Unterschied zwischen einer Anlage, die noch brauchbar ist, und einer, die zweimal ersetzt wurde.
Welches Motorrad, welches Jahr
Die YZ250F ist ab 2014 abgedeckt, YZ250FX und WR250F ab 2015. Die FX fällt nach 2016 aus der Liste, YZ und WR laufen bis 2018. Steht Ihre Maschine am Rand einer dieser Spannen, prüfen Sie das Baujahr am Rahmen statt dem Verkaufsjahr zu trauen.
Neupacken zählt hier mehr
Das ist die älteste Anlage der Gruppe — die meisten Exemplare im Umlauf haben also mehrere Saisons hinter sich. Ein nie neu gepackter Dämpfer ist lauter und härter, als die Zahlen vermuten lassen, und daran kann kein Auspuffhersteller ab Werk etwas ändern.
