Wasser im Schalldämpfer richtet zweierlei an, und beides ist schlecht: Es durchtränkt die Dämmwolle, und es steht am tiefsten Punkt der Anlage und rostet alles an, was nicht aus Edelstahl ist. Ein Waschstopfen kostet ungefähr so viel wie ein Kaffee und verhindert beides.

Der Bereich deckt fast alles ab
22 bis 55 Millimeter Austritts-Innendurchmesser umfassen praktisch jeden Straßen- und Rennschalldämpfer von Akrapovic — und das meiste, was andere bauen, ebenfalls. Innen am Austritt messen, nicht außen am Rohr: Das ist das Maß, gegen das der Stopfen dichtet.
Vor dem Anlassen entfernen
Naheliegend, und trotzdem gesagt, weil es der eine Fehler ist, den dieses Teil einlädt. Ein verstopfter Auspuff mit laufendem Motor hat keinen Weg für das Gas. Genau deshalb fertigt Akrapovic den Stopfen in einer Farbe, die schwer zu übersehen ist.
Den Austritt messen
Mit einer Schieblehre innen am Endrohr messen, ganz am Ende. Ein Dämpfer mit zwei Austritten braucht zwei Stopfen; bei einem konischen Austritt gilt die engste Stelle, die der Stopfen erreicht.

Akrapovic führt P-GUV007 unter Werbematerial statt beim Auspuffzubehör — und dorthin gehört er, dort steht er bei uns. Dasselbe gilt für den Federhaken P-CMSP, das andere echte Werkzeug, das in jenem Teil der Liste versteckt ist.
