Kaum ein Motorrad sammelt so viele Tankstopps wie eine BMW R 1200 RT. Ihre Besitzer fahren damit eine Woche lang über Grenzen hinweg, tanken am Morgen, nach dem Mittagessen noch einmal und vor dem Hotel ein drittes Mal, sodass der Einfüllstutzen häufiger geöffnet wird als fast alles andere am Motorrad. Accossatos FC103, gelistet für die R 1200 RT von 2005 bis 2019, ist ein Deckel mit Schnellverschluss, vollständig auf CNC-Anlagen aus Aluminium gefräst und von einer Klinke verschlossen, deren Stiftfarbe Sie wählen. Er hat keine Straßenzulassung, sein Platz ist also ein geschlossener Kurs, was für eine RT meist einen Fahrsicherheitstag bedeutet.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Tourenfahrer behalten ihre Motorräder über Jahre, deshalb ist Haltbarkeit das Erste, was sie von einem Teil verlangen. Accossato antwortet mit Material und Verfahren: Der FC103 besteht durchgehend aus Aluminium, auf CNC-Anlagen gefräst, und das Unternehmen beschreibt ihn als robust und langlebig. Die Gestaltung ist neu und, in Accossatos Worten, ansprechend. Das Öffnen und Schließen übernimmt eine schnell schließende Klinke, und an ihrem Stift wählen Sie die Farbe, aus Blau, Grün, Schwarz, Rot, Silber oder Gold. Sollte diese Klinke eines Tages beschädigt werden, verkauft Accossato sie als eigenes Teil, und der Körper des Deckels bleibt schlicht im Dienst.
Ein Tourer beim Training auf geschlossenem Kurs
Viele RT-Besitzer fahren nie auf einer Rennstrecke, buchen aber einen Tag Fahrsicherheitstraining auf einem geschlossenen Kurs, um herauszufinden, was der große Tourer wirklich kann. Ohne Gegenverkehr üben sie harte Bremsungen aus Tempo, lernen, wie weit sich die R 1200 RT neigt, bevor Metall den Asphalt berührt, und arbeiten unter den Augen der Instruktoren am Bremsen in die Kurve hinein. Ein solcher Tag ist auch der Rahmen, in dem ein Deckel ohne Straßenzulassung ans Motorrad darf. Nehmen Sie im Fahrerlager die Koffer ab, lassen Sie den Motor abkühlen und tauschen Sie den Originaldeckel gegen den FC103, während das Motorrad auf dem Ständer steht, und prüfen Sie dann vor dem ersten Turn, ob die Dichtung ringsum gleichmäßig aufliegt. Tanken Sie aus dem Kanister bei abgestelltem Motor nach, gießen Sie langsam durch einen Trichter, damit nichts an der Verkleidung herunterläuft, und halten Sie jeden mit einer Zigarette weit weg. Lassen Sie am Abend den Motor erneut abkühlen, montieren Sie den Originaldeckel und treten Sie erst dann die Heimfahrt an.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Accossatos Anwendungsliste nennt den FC103 für die R 1200 RT von 2005 bis 2019. Diese Spanne umfasst die luft- und ölgekühlte RT ebenso wie das wassergekühlte Modell, das 2014 folgte, ein Eintrag deckt also zwei recht verschiedene Generationen ab. Accossato verwendet diesen Deckel an einer Vielzahl von BMW-Modellen; bei uns ist er außerdem für die R 1200 GS, die K 1600 GT und die R nineT gelistet. Weil der Eintrag so weit gefasst ist, gleichen Sie ihn vor der Bestellung mit Ihrer eigenen RT und deren Originalverschluss ab.
Straßenzulassung
Für den FC103 dokumentiert Accossato weder eine deutsche ABE noch ein Gutachten, wir verkaufen ihn deshalb für geschlossene Kurse. Originaldeckel an Straßenmotorrädern lassen sich normalerweise mit dem Zündschlüssel verriegeln, und an einer zugelassenen RT ist der Werksdeckel nichts, was man für den öffentlichen Straßenverkehr leichtfertig tauscht.
