DescriptionThe whole story▼
Many riders come back to motorcycling after a long break, once the children are older or there is finally time again, and the Monster 796 has been a popular choice for that return: compact, recognisably a Monster and not intimidating. The first months back bring a few clumsy moments, most of them at walking pace, and the clutch lever on the left often pays for them. For the Monster 796 of 2010 to 2015, including the 20° Anniversario of 2013, Accossato lists the AGS282, a silver replacement clutch lever in the original form.

- Replacement clutch lever of the original type for the Ducati Monster 796
- Listed from 2010 to 2015, with and without ABS
- Also named for the 20° Anniversario of 2013

- Left-hand lever, clutch
- Accossato's value-for-money spare
- Accossato: its production process gives the lever more resistance after damage or a crash
- One lever; no German ABE or test mark, for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The AGS282 is made in the form of the original lever, so the Monster 796 keeps the look it had when you bought it, which matters on a bike chosen partly for its classic outline. Accossato designed this spare for value for money and says the method used to make it increases its resistance after damage or collisions. The colour is silver, in line with Accossato's list for this bike, and no further data are published.
The First Months Back
Returning riders often find that their feel for the open road comes back faster than their slow-speed skills. The drops that happen are rarely at speed; they happen when stopping on a camber, turning in a tight driveway or pulling away with too few revs and a clutch released too quickly. A refresher course is money well spent, and so is an hour in an empty car park practising slow turns, clutch control and stops with the front wheel straight. Treat the first drop as part of learning rather than a disaster. Lift the Monster 796 correctly, using your legs, and look at the clutch lever, the mirror and the footpeg on the left. Fitting the AGS282 is a good first job to do yourself: clean the pivot, grease it lightly, fit the lever and make sure it moves freely. Then check the clutch switch and the engagement at a standstill before you ride again.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato gives the AGS282 for the Monster 796 from 2010 to 2015, with and without ABS, and additionally for the 20° Anniversario of 2013. It is the only replacement clutch lever named for this bike, and the silver AGD149 covers the brake side for the same years. For riders who prefer a tuning part, Accossato's CNC levers ESD022 and LV010 are listed for the clutch and EDB012 and LV011 for the brake. Compare the product photo with the lever fitted to your Monster 796 before ordering.
Road Approval
For the AGS282 there are no approval documents in our possession, so no German ABE and no test mark; we therefore offer it for racing and competition use.
