DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Scrambler Classic parked at the side of a village street looks settled, but the road beneath it is rarely flat. Most streets are built with a camber, falling away from the middle towards the gutter so that rain can drain off, and a bike on its side stand reacts to that slope more than many riders expect. Park it the wrong way round and the Classic stands almost upright, one small push away from falling. Accossato lists the PP018 rear axle sliders for the Scrambler Classic from 2015 to 2018.
Key Features
- Rear axle sliders for the Ducati Scrambler Classic, 2015 to 2018
- Accossato PP018, sold as a left and right pair
- Aluminium and plastic, finished in black
- Spacers, screws and further mounting parts included, as stated by Accossato
- Designed to take the first contact at the rear
- Can be combined with the PF044 front sliders and TP090 crash pads
- No German ABE on file; for track and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium and plastic go into the PP018, and the two finished sliders are black. Accossato describes the kit as containing the spacers, the screws and every other part needed for mounting. Their purpose on the Scrambler Classic is to be the part that meets the ground first at the rear of the bike, ahead of the swingarm and the axle area, which can make the damage from a fall smaller. They do not make a bike immune to scratches, and after a heavy knock they are renewed.
Reading the Camber
The side stand is on the left, so the direction in which the road falls decides how the bike stands. If the ground drops away on the stand side, the Scrambler Classic leans further onto its stand: stable, though heavier to lift when you leave. If the ground drops away on the right, the bike stands more upright than usual and needs very little to topple over to that side. Before you step off, look at the gutter and work out which way the surface runs. Parking at a right angle to the kerb, with the rear wheel towards it, usually takes the sideways slope out of the equation, and leaving the bike in first gear stops it rolling. Where that is impossible, turn the bars towards the stand and check that the bike really rests on it before you let go. On soft or crumbling edges near the gutter, a stand plate spreads the load. When you return, look again before you climb on, because someone may have nudged the bike into a worse position.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Scrambler Classic, Accossato lists the PP018 from 2015 to 2018, and we have linked it to exactly those years. Accossato also lists the PF044 front axle sliders and the TP090 crash pads for this bike, so front, rear and sides can all be covered. In our shop, the same rear sliders are catalogued for the Scrambler 1100 Special and the Scrambler Sixty2. Compare your Scrambler Classic with the list before ordering; if in doubt, send us the details.
Road Approval
We do not have an ABE or any other approval document for the PP018; the sliders are sold for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
