Die Multistrada 1200 S von 2015 brachte mit DVT die variable Ventilsteuerung von Ducati in den Allrounder, und viele Besitzer fahren sie genau so, wie gedacht: lange Tage auf Landstraßen, die eine Region mit der nächsten verbinden. Spätsommer und Herbst bringen auf diesen Straßen europaweit ein eigenes Risiko mit, die Erntezeit. Traktoren tragen Erde von den Feldern auf den Asphalt, verlieren Getreide und Stroh an Kreuzungen und hinterlassen rutschige Spuren, wo Feldwege auf die Straße treffen. Das Hinterrad erwischt es meist zuerst. Der PP069 von Accossato gibt der Multistrada 1200 S von 2015 bis 2017 ein schwarzes Paar Achsprotektoren hinten.

Am Heck eines großen Reisemotorrads verdienen sich Protektoren ihren Platz gerade bei den langsamen, unbeholfenen Stürzen: ein Hinterrad, das an einer Kreuzung auf Schlamm wegsteigt, oder ein beladenes Motorrad, das im Stand kippt. Sie sollen vor der Schwinge und der Hinterachse auf den Boden treffen, was den Schaden eines solchen Falls verringern kann, und sollten erneuert werden, sobald sie verschlissen sind.
Schlamm, Stroh und Traktoren
Die Erntezeit verändert ländliche Straßen innerhalb von Stunden. Wo ein Traktor ein Feld verlässt, kann der Asphalt mit einer feuchten Erdschicht überzogen sein, die wie ein harmloser Schatten aussieht, bis ein Reifen sie quert. Fahren Sie solche Straßen mit Reserve: langsamer in unübersichtliche Kurven, auf einer Linie, die den Straßenrand meidet, wo sich Rückstände sammeln, und mit abgeschlossenem Bremsen vor der Kurve, nicht in ihr. Achten Sie auf die Hinweise, etwa frische Reifenspuren aus einer Hofeinfahrt oder Warnschilder, die Landwirte nach Regen aufstellen. Treffen Sie auf einen Traktor, halten Sie deutlich Abstand, denn von seinen Reifen fallen Erdklumpen, und überholen Sie nur mit freier Sicht. Die Multistrada 1200 S bietet mehrere Fahrmodi, und ein sanfterer ist an solchen Tagen eine vernünftige Wahl. Steigt das Heck doch aus, lassen Sie die Bremsen in Ruhe, halten Sie den Lenker gerade und geben Sie dem Reifen Zeit, wieder Halt zu finden.
