Fertigung und Materialgüte
Accossato, das 1985 einen Enduro-Weltmeistertitel holte, beschreibt diese Rasten knapp: vergrößerte Fußrasten, aus Ergal gefertigt, für Motocross-, Enduro- und Geländemaschinen. Ergal ist eine hochfeste Aluminiumlegierung, und die vergrößerte Form gibt dem Stiefel eine breitere Fläche, was zählt, wenn die Beine müde sind und die Fußplatzierung nachlässig wird. Das Set ist ein linkes und rechtes Paar, in orange oder schwarz für die FE 501 dieser Jahre. Darüber hinaus veröffentlicht der Hersteller keine Daten.
Die letzte Runde im schwindenden Licht
Erschöpfung zeigt sich zuerst in kleinen Dingen. Ein müder Fahrer setzt sich, wo er stehen sollte, umklammert den Lenker fester, schaut auf das Vorderrad statt auf die Strecke voraus und verfehlt die Raste, wenn er nach einer Kurve einen Fuß zurückstellt. Vorbereitung hilft: tagsüber essen und trinken, eine saubere Brille oder eine frische Scheibe für die letzte Runde bereithalten, und darauf achten, dass der Scheinwerfer der FE 501 sauber ist, denn Enduro-Motorräder tragen aus gutem Grund Licht. Am Motorrad kostet ein fester, entspannter Stand mit verankerten Füßen weniger Energie als ein verkrampfter.
