Fertigung und Materialgüte
Accossatos Beschreibung dieses Materials fällt knapp aus: eine Keramikmischung für den Rennsport. Am Heck eingesetzt, begegnet sie einem besonderen Belastungsmuster, denn ein Pedal, das durch eine Kurve geschleppt wird, ist nie ganz aus und nie ganz an, und das Material verbringt die Runde irgendwo dazwischen. Ein für den Wettbewerb gedachtes Material ist darauf ausgelegt, unter dieser gleichmäßigen, niedrigen Dauerbeanspruchung ebenso zu antworten wie bei einem harten Stopp, und genau das verlangt der Fahrer einer Tesi H2 1000 auf einer Rennstrecke.
Das Pedal durch die Kurve schleppen
Die Technik ist leicht zu beschreiben und schwer zu lernen. Ein wenig Hinterradbremse beim Einlenken hält das Fahrwerk ruhig und das Motorrad in der Kurve, und am Ausgang kann sie eine schnelle Maschine davon abhalten, wegzudriften, bevor das Gas voll offen ist. Sie funktioniert nur, wenn das Pedal vollkommen vorhersehbar ist, denn die beteiligten Drücke sind klein, und die Folgen eines Fehlers sind es nicht. Fahrer, die das praktizieren, bauen sich über eine Saison ein Gefühl auf und erwarten, dass es einen Belagwechsel übersteht.
An einem Trackday oder bei einer Veranstaltung lohnt sich zwischen den Sitzungen ein Blick auf die Hinterradbremse, auch wenn die sichtbare Arbeit vorne stattfindet. Drehen Sie das Rad, prüfen Sie beide Beläge, und achten Sie auf einen Bremssattel, der nicht sauber löst.
