Den Schleifpunkt finden
Zu lernen, wo eine Kupplung greift, ist genauso eine Sache der Hand wie des Motorrads, und es dauert bei einer schwereren Maschine länger als bei einem kleineren Einsteigermotorrad. Ein Hebel, der in dieser Phase still einen Stoß abbekommen hat, funktioniert oft noch gut genug, dass es niemand bemerkt, doch ein verbogenes Blatt verändert die Position, in die die Finger greifen, und kann den Schleifpunkt weniger konstant wirken lassen, als er sein sollte – das Gegenteil von dem, was ein lernender Fahrer braucht.
