An einer steilen Abfahrt teilen sich die Fahrer in zwei Lager: die, die im eingelegten Gang hinunterfahren und den Motor das Motorrad bremsen lassen, und die, die die Kupplung ziehen und das Tempo allein mit den Bremsen kontrollieren. Auf einer KTM 450 XC-F haben beide Ansätze ihren Platz, und die linke Hand wählt jedes Mal zwischen ihnen, wenn der Boden abfällt. Accossatos C7283, gelistet für die 450 XC-F von 2008 und von 2013 bis 2022, ist ein langer Kupplungshebel, den vier Finger eine ganze Abfahrt lang gezogen halten können, und er klappt weg, wenn das Motorrad umkippt.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Eine Kupplung, die Sie eine ganze Abfahrt lang gezogen halten, sollte auf der ganzen Hand ruhen, und Accossato zeichnet den C7283 entsprechend: lang, mit Platz für vier Finger. Der Hebel wird in Italien aus massivem Ergal 7075 gefräst, der Legierung, die Accossato für seine Offroad-Hebel verwendet, mit Festigkeit, geringem Gewicht und Zuverlässigkeit als erklärten Zielen. Er besteht aus zwei Teilen. Die dunkle Basis bleibt am Drehpunkt der Kupplungsaufnahme, und das farbige Hebelblatt ist so mit ihr verbunden, dass es nach vorn wegklappen kann.
Mit oder ohne Kupplung bergab
Im eingelegten Gang hinunterzufahren nutzt die kräftige Motorbremse der 450 XC-F, um das Motorrad zu stabilisieren und das Hinterrad am Drehen zu halten, was der Lenkung hilft und ein blockiertes Hinterrad unwahrscheinlicher macht. Auf langen, gleichmäßigen Abfahrten funktioniert das gut. Auf sehr steilem oder rutschigem Boden kann die Motorbremse das Hinterrad jedoch rutschen oder springen lassen, und viele Fahrer ziehen dann die Kupplung und bremsen allein mit vorderer und hinterer Bremse, bevor sie die Kupplung wieder kommen lassen, sobald der Hang flacher wird. Der Wechsel zwischen beidem verlangt ein leichtes, präzises Gefühl, und vier Finger auf einem langen Hebelblatt machen es leichter, die Kupplung eine ganze Abfahrt lang gezogen zu halten.
Abfahrten sind auch der Ort vieler Umfaller, bei geringem Tempo, aber auf steilem Boden. Fällt die 450 XC-F nach links, landet der Kupplungshebel zuerst, oft auf Felsen oder Wurzeln. An seiner Basis gelenkig gelagert, kann das Hebelblatt des C7283 nach vorn wegklappen und hat eine Chance, einen solchen Sturz zu überstehen. Passform und Kompatibilität
Accossato listet den C7283 für die KTM 450 XC-F in zwei getrennten Zeiträumen, dem Modelljahr 2008 und 2013 bis 2022; die Jahre 2009 bis 2012 sind nicht Teil der Auflistung. Der Hebel passt an die originale Kupplungsaufnahme. Für die Motorräder von 2013 bis 2022 vervollständigt der Klapp-Bremshebel B8283 das Paar, während für das Modell von 2008 nur dieser Kupplungshebel gelistet ist. Die gemeinsamen Farben sind Schwarz, Blau und Orange; Rot gibt es nur beim Kupplungshebel.
Straßenzulassung
Für den C7283 ist keine deutsche ABE dokumentiert. Er ist für Geländefahrten und Wettbewerbe bestimmt, nicht für öffentliche Straßen.
