Fertigung und Materialgüte
Orange ist an einer KTM die naheliegende Wahl, Schwarz die zurückhaltendere, und genau das sind die zwei Blattfarben des C7303. Das Hebelblatt sitzt auf einer dunklen Basis, die am Drehpunkt der Kupplung bleibt, und ein Gelenk zwischen beiden lässt das Hebelblatt nach vorn wegklappen. Accossato fräst den Hebel in Italien aus massivem Ergal 7075, einer festen Aluminiumsorte, und nennt Festigkeit, geringes Gewicht und Zuverlässigkeit als Ziele dahinter. Das Hebelblatt ist die lange Kupplungsbauform, mit Platz für vier Finger.
Zurück auf die Räder
Wie Sie ein schweres Motorrad aufheben, hängt davon ab, wie es liegt. Auf ebenem Boden drehen viele Fahrer der Sitzbank den Rücken zu, gehen in die Hocke, nehmen den unteren Griff in eine Hand und einen festen Punkt am Heck in die andere und drücken mit den Beinen nach oben, statt mit den Armen zu ziehen. An einem Hang drehen Sie das Motorrad zuerst so, dass die Räder bergab oder zumindest quer zum Hang zeigen. Im Schlamm legen Sie das Vorderrad frei, wenn es eingegraben ist. Ist die 450 EXC-F Six Days nach links gefallen, ist das der Kupplungshebel. Er übersteht vielleicht den Sturz, nur um dann zu brechen, wenn das Motorrad herumgezogen oder hochgehebelt wird. Accossato listet den C7303 für die KTM 450 EXC-F Six Days von 2014 bis 2017, einen Zeitraum, in dem das Motorrad seinen Namen änderte: KTM nannte es bis einschließlich 2016 450 EXC Six Days und fügte ab dem Modelljahr 2017 das F hinzu. Der Hebel passt an die originale Kupplungsaufnahme. Sein Gegenstück rechts ist der Bremshebel B8303, gelistet für dieselben Jahre. Den C7303 gibt es in Schwarz oder Orange und den B8303 in Schwarz oder Gold, sodass Schwarz die einzige Farbe ist, die beide Seiten teilen.
