Mit einer Halbverkleidung wurde die XJ6 zur XJ6 Diversion und griff damit einen Namen auf, den Yamaha in den 1990er Jahren für seine vernünftigen, verkleideten Allrounder verwendet hatte. Die Verkleidung nimmt den Wind von der Brust, und das macht die Diversion zur naheliegenden Wahl für alle, die das ganze Jahr über pendeln, auch in den Monaten, in denen der Heimweg im Dunkeln liegt. Accossatos EDF016 übernimmt die Aufgabe des Serienbremshebels der XJ6 Diversion, gelistet für 2009 bis 2015: aus Aluminium gefräst, am originalen Bremszylinder montiert und einstellbar darin, wie weit das Blatt vom Griff entfernt sitzt.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Aluminium rostet nicht, und das Eloxieren fügt eine harte, versiegelte Oberfläche hinzu, die Regen, Straßenschmutz und dem regelmäßigen Putzen standhält, das Fahren rund ums Jahr mit sich bringt. Accossato fräst den EDF016 auf CNC-Anlagen aus dem Vollen und eloxiert anschließend die Nabe schwarz und das Blatt in der Farbe Ihrer Wahl. Nichts klappt: Das Blatt ist auf ganzer Länge starr, sodass der Hebel auf der ersten Pendelfahrt der Woche genauso direkt anspricht wie auf der fünften, ohne ein Gelenk, das sich lockern könnte.
Unterwegs nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit
Nachts können Sie nicht nach unten schauen, um einen Hebel zu finden, und Sie sollten es auch nicht müssen. Die rechte Hand muss allein nach Gefühl wissen, wo das Blatt ist, in dicken Handschuhen, während die Augen mit Blendung, Spiegelungen und einer Fahrbahn beschäftigt sind, die sich schwerer lesen lässt als bei Tageslicht. Das funktioniert, wenn der Hebel immer genau an derselben Stelle relativ zu den Fingern sitzt. Beim EDF016 legen Sie diese Stelle einmal fest, mit den Handschuhen, die Sie in den dunklen Monaten tragen, und dort bleibt sie. Zum Pendeln auf der XJ6 Diversion ist das Standardblatt eine solide Wahl: Es lässt Platz für die ganze Hand, wenn ein Auto herauszieht und Sie sofort voll bremsen müssen. Stellen Sie die Griffweite in der Dämmerung mit Ihren Winterhandschuhen ein und nicht mit bloßen Händen in einer hellen Garage, denn der Unterschied zwischen beidem ist größer, als er scheint.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Der Eintrag XJ6 600 Diversion in Accossatos Liste nennt den EDF016 für 2009 bis 2015. Der Hebel ersetzt das Serienblatt am originalen Vorderradbremszylinder der Diversion. Soll die Kupplungsseite dazu passen: Accossatos ESY688 ist für die XJ6 Diversion von 2009 bis 2016 gelistet und kommt in denselben sieben Farben mit derselben schwarzen Nabe, sodass sich das Paar zusammen bestellen lässt.
Straßenzulassung
Eine deutsche Straßenzulassung (ABE) ist für diesen EDF016 nicht dokumentiert, und der Hebel wird für den Einsatz auf der Rennstrecke verkauft.
